About

A calm space, built from real experience.

Underneath was created for the parents, carers and professionals holding behaviour every day — and waiting, sometimes for years, for support that doesn't always come.

Last updated: 27 May 2026

Why it exists

Behaviour is communication. But when a child is overwhelmed, on a waiting list, or moving between school and home, that message can be incredibly hard to hear. Underneath is a quiet, supportive companion that helps you pause, notice what might be underneath, and respond with care — without needing to know all the answers first.

Who it's for

Parents and carers. Families on neurodevelopmental waiting lists. Schools and SENCOs. Therapists, family-support workers, and CAMHS teams. Anyone walking alongside a child and trying to understand what they need next.

What we believe

That every family deserves a calm, human place to make sense of hard moments. That children are not their behaviour. That professionals do better work when parents feel heard. And that technology, used gently, can hold space for both.

The team

Underneath is built by a small team in collaboration with parents, neurodivergent adults, teachers and clinicians. If you'd like to contribute your lived experience or professional expertise, we'd love to hear from you.

Questions, concerns or a safeguarding worry? We'd rather hear from you than not. Reach us any time at hello@underneathapp.com.
